Lord of all creation, we praise you for the beauty of our earth. Every star shines your perfect light upon a world that needs to trust in your power. In the midst of darkness, when fear creeps into our hearts, your light finds us. We are not hidden from you, despite our attempts to hide. You can see us in the dense fog as clearly as when we sit on an empty beach. You locate us in the caves we construct to disguise our brokenness. It was you who breathed life into us, and it is you who chooses to sustain us. Your love is too wonderful to comprehend.
We ask why and you answer with a rainbow after a surprise mid-summer afternoon rainstorm. We are the why. You love your creation and promise to keep loving us. There is nothing we can do to separate us from your love in Christ Jesus.
There is nothing to separate us and no way to properly thank you except to follow in the footsteps of the One who came so show us the way to follow. Open our hearts and spirits to your will and guard our minds from anything that might distract us from being all that you desire. We pray in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
