Merciful God, thank you for guiding us. As summer heat descends upon us and many travel near and far, protect us. You alone can see into the future that we will soon inhabit. You alone know the preferred path for us but give us the freedom to choose our own way. Urge us to journey on the road that leads to life eternal. Let our every desire be to love you and love our neighbors.
Help us to see the beauty of your creation and to care for it. Allow us a glimpse of the majestic wonder that lives within each human. Please Lord, plant seeds of compassion within us so we might see as you see and love as you love. May we be faithful in our giving of ourselves, as you have been faithful to offer us salvation through Jesus our Christ. We praise and adore you and long to glorify your holy name. Amen.
