Lord of all, you come gentle as a purring kitten and fierce as a roaring lion. You come to greet the day and to bid the sun a peaceful passage into night. You come because you desire to be here with us and you still come when we turn away. You come when our cries for protection are lifted and when our silence is deafening.
You come.
You, who are God, come! I open my eyes to see you, my ears to hear you and my heart to feel you. You keep your promise to come and that you will come again. And it is because you come, we can praise and adore you with joyful, expectant spirits. We are certain of your coming, so we give thanks for your faithfulness. We offer thanksgiving for every time you have come and find peace because we trust you will come again. We come to you with hope as we wait for you to come again. Amen.
