Here’s What’s Happening at Heritage!

2021 New Year’s message from Pastor Maria

Happy New Year 2021! It is a joy to celebrate a new beginning! For many of us 2020 was a year that couldn’t end soon enough—and that was how we felt in July. But we are here now and like those ‘Wise Guys’ who followed the light of a star two thousand years ago, we have the ‘Light’ to follow. They went in search of a newborn king. We have found our King in Christ Jesus.

Where will be go this year as a faith community? How will we know we are going in the right direction? ‘Wise Guys and Gals’ are still called to journey into the unknown. God calls us to share the Good News wherever we are. For some of us, it will be with words. For others, it will be with actions. But we all have Good News to share: God has kept God’s promises. 2020 was the most difficult year we have had as a nation in quite some time. But we can give thanks because God is still working to save us. God is working through the medical teams and scientists to find vaccines and cures. God is working through counselors and friends to provide support and compassion. God wants to work through you and me to help the community to heal.

Our challenges are not over, but we do not have to face them alone. God is for us and with us. We are blessed to have one another for encouragement. I look forward to what God has in store for us in 2021! Our mission has not changed, we want all to be able to worship, grow and serve. Together we will see transformed lives reflecting the love of Christ in our community, state and world.

Happy and Blessed 2021! You are a beloved child of God! Celebrate and give thanks!
