To honor the memory of those from our Heritage family as well as loved ones who have passed away in the past year, we will be listing their names in next month’s newsletter. If you have someone you would like us to include please email email@example.com with loved one’s name and relationship to you by October 29.
In addition, during worship on Sunday, November 1, we will be remembering those church members that have passed in the past year.
It has come to our attention that many of you may are again receiving emails that appear to be from Pastor Maria. They may look like these or read close to what these say:
Rev. Maria Campbell
Do you have a moment I have a request I need you to handle discreetly. I am currently busy in a prayer session, no calls so just reply my email.

From: Rev Maria Campbell
Subject: Many Blessings
How are you doing?
I need a favor from you, email me as soon as you get this message.
Blessings and peace,
Rev. Maria Campbell
PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND !
Her name as well as many other pastors names are being used by hackers. Check to see if the email address that it was sent from is actually a church email and note that Pastor Maria does not use emoji’s in email correspondence as we have noticed this is also happening. If you are in doubt, please call the church office and leave someone on staff a message and we will get back to you to confirm authenticity.
Know that Pastor Maria, the church, and it’s staff would never ask you for something in this manner.
We apologize for the confusion and hope this answers any questions you may have. Again, if you are ever unsure about an email you have received, do not hesitate to contact the church office and we will be happy to answer your questions.
A reminder that online giving is available on the church website at https://heritageumc.org/. Should you prefer to write a check, you can mail them to the church office at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Rd, Overland Park KS 66213.
