Greetings HUMC family,
Last week, the CDC updated its recommendations for mask usage and social distancing for fully vaccinated people. The Leadership Team met this week to discuss the updates and agreed to remain consistent with CDC guidance. Effective immediately, masks will be optional for worship and other church events for those that are fully vaccinated. Please wear a mask if you are unvaccinated or are more comfortable wearing one in public. We trust our congregation to be honest and show love and respect to our brothers and sisters in Christ, who calls us to “love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12).
With this nudge towards “normal”, we will also make additional changes to our protocols. Seating in the sanctuary will be open to your choice. Our greeters and ushers will still be available to help, as needed. We’ll open the Fellowship Hall after the service to enjoy some company or a drink or snack. If you’d prefer to gather outside, please do stick around and catch up with your neighbors. In-person Sunday school will be available beginning June 6th for children ages 4 through 5th grade. Masks will be required for the children and all volunteers.
Please continue to enter through the west entrance at Fellowship Hall. The north entrance is also available for handicap accessible. We thank you for your grace as we navigate this ever-changing situation and look forward to seeing you at Heritage.
Blessings from the Leadership Team,
